27 May New Appointment for Ronan Barry
I write to inform you that our Spiritan Identity, Faith, and Mission Officer, Mr. Ronan Barry will leave his position on July 31st.
Ronan has worked closely with our school leadership, chaplaincy teams, and teaching staff over the past six and half years, supporting the expression of Spiritan Ethos in our schools, facilitating student retreats, and guiding teachers in sacramental preparation for students. Many teachers and students enjoyed working with Ronan in the Schools’ Global Citizenship Programme, which under his leadership has embedded in all our schools’ awareness of the fragility of our planet and the importance of protecting our natural resources. The annual Global Citizenship Showcase day has grown from a local to an international event and now enjoys the support of schools from the African continent.
In the SET office, Ronan has always worked and contributed beyond the boundaries of his defined role. His commitment to our schools has seen him engage in every significant project from new teacher induction to promoting our Special Education Initiative.
Although Ronan is leaving SET, he is not going far, as he has now been appointed to the position of Director of the Spiritan Mission Ireland Office and will continue to be based in Kimmage Manor. I wish him every success in his new role, and I offer him my thanks not only for his work with SET but also for being ever willing to support his colleagues in any way he could. Personally, I have been grateful to Ronan on many occasions for his support, advice, and encouragement and I cannot promise that I won’t continue to avail of his wisdom.
I am sure that Ronan will be engaging with you in his new role supporting schools and helping us all to promote Spiritan Mission across the entire Spiritan Community. As he leaves his former position and moves to a new one, we thank Ronan for his work in the past and look forward to working with him in the future.
Kind regards,
Tom Sheridan
